Are we SURE Hobaica isn't here?!
Also, here is my animation box fold. The teacher liked our whole classes so much that he offered to post them in the Character Animation hallway this week. ZOMG!

Another Semi-Rough Week
SO I have now learned a valuable lesson....
A three-day weekend doesn't mean BUPKIS when you are in college! It just means one more day to do homework! And sadly, I needed it... I pulled my first all-nighter on a HOLIDAY!
(THREE HOURS LATER!)
Okay, I have updated photos for Facebook and that completely KILLED my night, so no real post now. Maybe later on this weekend. Take care!

The Ups and Downs
So today was rough. I cried again. I hate it. Some stupid thing one person said threw me into a funk the entire day. But it ended alright- with a trip to McDonalds for an ice cream cone with a GREAT friend.
Gawd, there is SO much I should be blogging about, but where to start?!
Let's see... Last I told you I'd just met with my mentor for the first time and I'd just seen/met Mark Andrews of Pixar.
Long story short- I found my roommate. Her flight got SERIOUSLY postponed. She got in after midnight on move-in day. Also, I must have won the CalArts Roommate LOTTERY because she is AMAZING! Her name is Kaoru and she's a graphic design major, but I think I have secured her an honorary place in Character Animation! XD Now that the school year is in full swing, we actually never even see each other much anymore... She's always working in her studio and I am always in my cube. I get home between midnight and 2 (sometimes 3) AM and got to bed. When I wake up in the morning to go to class, she is in bed passed out. But otherwise, she is AMAZING!
The night of the 13th/morning of the 14th, the Character Animation freshman lined up in the hallway for the ritual of the all night Cube Camp-out. Seniors got first pick, then juniors and so on. So by Monday , the cubes remaining (Keane Street is reserved specifically for freshman) were up for grabs. The line started at 4 PM when we got out of class, and someone in the office would be handing out numbers at 8:30 AM the next morning... It was INSANE! And fun! Our first real bonding experience.
I was 30th to get a number the next morning. We were to come back at 12:30 PM to line up in numerical order for actual sign-ups. We ran to lunch and RAN back to Character Animation hall. By the time I got anywhere NEAR the table, word was filtering back that ALL the cubes in the main building were taken and the only thing left was the Lodge (a temporary building on the side of the main building of CalArts). NOTE: Lodge has no BATHROOMS! I desperately wanted to be in the Main Building. When I got up, I begged if there were ANY cubes left in the Main Building. There were TWO! The very FRONT ones by the main doors... Think LOTS of traffic and noise! I felt gut-punched... until the girl with the maps said there was ONE in the back with two third-years. I pondered for about 30 seconds and said, "I'll TAKE IT!" It wasn't exactly what I'd been hoping for, but I decided this was a blessing and I wasn't going to turn it down. Now I am SO happy I did! I love my amazing cubemates Ellen and JeeHung.

Dan Hansen
Okay, I FINALLY got to meet/talk to my mentor today, the AMAZING Dan Hansen (if ya don't know, look him up on imdb.com!) and after our chat, I have been spurred to up my usage of this blog and use it as a way to show off my work, as was my intention when I made it. I am going to try to schedule a set time every week where I will post something here. Whether it be art, photos, just text posts, etc. Right now, it appears the time I will have to do this will be something around midnight on a week night. Weekends are completely reserved for homework, so that is a no go. But I will do my best. And if there is ever something you want me to talk about, just shoot me a comment! I'll do my best to address everything.
And I would like someone to remind me to post about meeting Mark Andrews tonight! XD
