Experimental Animation- My Old Man

So, I still don't have a Greek name for this old guy, but he's growing on me. For my 2D Animation class this week, we were supposed to do 10 seconds of "experimental animation" of one of our characters from our film, but NOT a scene from our film. The purpose of the experiment was to discover how our character works and find any flaws that might exist in the character design. I dunno if I found any "flaws" per se, but I did find that I am going to have a hell of a time with this guy's HANDS! I've never done hands quite like this before, and technically, they are HUUUUUUUGE! I have to move the arms more to get the hands out of the way!

Old Man

(It is just a bit over 11 seconds, I think.) ENJOY!

Post-Glen Keane

So, Glen Keane showed a quote tonight that really clung to me. I actually found it online! Woot!

The Sketch Hunter

"The sketch hunter moves through life as he finds it, not passing negligently the things he loves, but stopping know them and to note them down in the shorthand of his sketchbook....He is looking for what he loves, he tries to capture it. It's found anywhere, everywhere. Those who are not hunters do not see these things. The hunter is learning to see and to understand- to enjoy."
- Robert Henri

I feel like this. This speaks to me.
