You know... there are nights when I really wish I'd just stayed home rather than go to life drawing...

And the frequency with which they are occurring is REALLY frightening! But I HAVE to go! If I don't draw for two months then ship off to college, I am going to be FUCKING SOL! I have to keep trying! I just... have no energy or desire right now...

My favorite "drawings" tonight were the gestures of my little cutie-patootie crush... XD He was ON tonight! Seriously, his poses were fabulous... The rest... Gawd! I was BORED!

Illusion of Calm

I call this entry Illusion of Calm because I was ANYTHING but Calm when I got home today and saw a VERY colorful envelope on my bed today.

I GOT ACCEPTED TO CALARTS!!!!!!




I screamed VERY loudly! My poor sister standing beside me went deaf momentarily. I then called my dad who already knew (he got the mail), my mom (her phone went straight to voice mail), my best friend Evita (she didn't pick up), my other best friend Leigh (she was most happy for me) and finally my third best friend, Rosalinda (who was also very happy for me).

I am OVER THE MOON right now!

The First Letter

The first official letter came today. My heart aches for the recipient. I know her pain. I only wish I could somehow lessen it.

No one deserves that feeling of rejection.

It only brings the possibility of my own arriving that much closer. The wait, the pain, the pressure, the stress- it's all real now. I've avoided it for months. It finally caught up with all of us.

Letters?! But it's only February!

In the past week, information has been sifting in...

One current CharAnim student at CalArts mentioned that her teacher left during class to go review portfolios, and unconfirmed reports suggest that someone has already been accepted into the program, this just the end of February. It's not even March yet!

Is it possible their job was not as difficult this year? I may be receiving a letter sooner rather than later... I don't know if I was prepped to find out this early!
